Masters of the Chicago Blues Harp

Veteran blues harmonica author David Barrett has penned another fine book for Mel Bay Publications. Transcribed for ten-hole diatonic harmonicas in C, D, F, G, A, B, and B flat played in 2nd position (cross-harp), this book features solos by blues greats Billy Boy Arnold, Carey Bell, Billy Branch, Big Leon Brooks, William Clarke, James Cotton, Rick Estrin, and Charlie Musselwhite. Each solo is shown in two versions — full strength as originally played by the individual artist, as well as an easy play rendition. Note: In the first printing of this book, three tunes were listed with incorrect harmonica keys for matching the CD. The correct keys are: Cash Money – G Major Harmonica, Concert D; Women in Trouble – F Major Harmonica, Concert C; Berlin Wall – B Major Harmonica, Concert F#.
