This is the first step in our range of whistles, a straight bore non-tuneable no nonsense whistle in abs plastic. Giving a nice warm woody tone it is one of the quieter models we make. Perfect for a learner making first steps in whistle world.
Replacement whistle head for the DX204, DX006 and the TRAD rang
The Trad is one of our most popular whistles with is simple traditional design. It comes in a choice of brass or solid nickel body. The nickel we use is solid cupro nickel (copper/nickel alloy) rather than plated, its the same material as is commonly used in your "silver" money. We have found the brass has a sweeter tone than the nickel which might be, as the foundry tells us, because it's 20% harder than the brass. Other than this the main difference being that the brass will inevitably tarnish faster.
This is a tuneable version of our DX001 with the advantages of being able to interchange it with a piccolo head. The removable head also gives it more positive tuneablility and makes it easier to clean.
This has all the characteristics of the DX004 with the added advantages of being very sleek. The addition of the handmade brass tuning slide not only allows for smooth comfortable tuning but offers a subtle sharpness to the tone.
Our aluminium bodied soprano whistle utilises the ABS head on a more substantial body. The greater wall thickness gives a larger chimney depth to the holes gives the Fatter, louder tone that players have come to expect from aluminium bodied whistles.
We describe our instruments with both a whistle and a flute head as a duo. The Piccolo head is matched in the work shop as an alternative head for use with our DX006 aluminium bodied whistle.

The smallest member of the Flute family, The Piccolo corresponds in pitch to the Soprano Whistle. Requiring more practice to master than a whistle, the reward is a loud and strident instrument able to hold their own when playing outside for example.
Utilising the classic straight bore aluminium low whistle design body, this is a solid feeling and sounding instrument. Much like its soprano counterparts the aluminium body reflects the sound wave with less absorption providing you with a more metallic tone as you would expect from this harder material
This tuneable heavy brass whistle is made to the same specification as the DX006. Being solid brass it is considerably heavier than its aluminium cousin. Tonally it offers the richest sound of our range, the feedback we get from professional musicians is that this is a favourite for recording. At present only available in D
